The Myth of the Liberal Media Essay Redo

Herman and Chomsky challenge the commonly held belief that America's media is liberal from many examples with in the five filters, which include ownership, advertising, sourcing, flak, and anti-communism. One example from the movie was when Chomsky says that journalists are not suppose to express their opinions, but of course journalists do express their opinion by going to an expert. Herman also related a story to a seller's market when the new car dealer was asking seven and one half percent profit margin, but you can talk them down, and get half that. He goes on to say " that it is an unwritten rule that you will never dicuse buying autos, and make any critique of the process of buying cars", this would be using the filter: sourcing.
